UPCOMING EVENTS
Radio interview, Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 1:30pm.
WBAI Radio, 99.5 FM, New York. "Walden's Pond," hosted by Shelton Walden.
I'll talk about "Charging the Net: A History of Blacks in Tennis" along with co-author Larryette Kyle-DeBose.
The interview can also be heard live on www.wbai.org.

I'm proud to have appeared on camera and served as a producer of a compelling documentary, "Black Ice," on the history of blacks in hockey. The documentary is based on historical information contained in the acclaimed books, "Black Ice," by George and Darril Fosty (Stryker-Indigo Publishing) and my own "Breaking the Ice: The Black Experience in Professional Hockey" (Insomniac Press).
Many talented people, including the Fosty brothers and myself, are collaborating to produce a work that will inform, illuminate and inspire viewers on the history of blacks in hockey in the United States and Canada--a subject that finally will receive the breadth and depth of coverage it deserves.
"Black Ice" was previewed at the Canadian Sport Film Festival in Toronto in May 2008 and during the National Hockey League's All-Star Weekend in Atlanta in January 2008.
Keep in mind that January 18, 2008 will marked the golden anniversary of Willie O'Ree's debut as the first black player in National Hockey League history. O'Ree, who works for the NHL, will be on hand in Atlanta along with me, George Fosty and others involved in the "Black Ice" project.
Return to this space for more information on "Black Ice."
